Hi Ladies, I hope you’re week thus far has been simply great….mine has been busy,busy,busy..other than attending to the general perplexities of life, I’ve been running behind my first-born who’s been busy with school performances and a inter-school story telling competition scheduled for the morrow. So wish her luck ok…. 🙂
So like I got my Lilac Box weeks back, but as mentioned I’ve been too busy to sit down and do a proper review until now. Now The Lilac Box (hereinafter referred to as TLB) is no stranger to beauty box junkies and those who love receiving a lovely surprise in the mail now and then. Said to be ‘The Only Premium Brand Beauty-Box in Malaysia. The Lilac Box delivers boxes to your doorstep with a selection of specially curated beauty and cosmetic products from premium and luxury brands.’
Each of their boxes are aptly called ‘blind dates in a box’ and the team at TLB hopes that ‘you will get to know these products. You will flirt with them, learn more about them, spend plenty of time together, and who knows – you might find one you’ll fall in love with for the rest of your life!’
So what was in my Box 2…. the pictures below will illustrate the contents of my ‘blind date in a box’
Lets have a look at what I received…
- Redken Intra Force Shampoo, 145ml – RM 55/295ml (RM 27)
- Redken Intra Force Toner, 145ml – RM 58/240ml (RM 35)

- Calvin Klein Sheer Beauty EDT 1.2ml – RM 261/50ml or RM325/100ml (RM 3.5)
There it is folks…. Box 2 of TLB unboxed. So what did I think…. To be honest I have mixed feeling on this one. Firstly though let me say that the fact that this box does live up to its promise of ‘Premium Brands’. It’s great to see products from luxury brands featured. I will go on to say that I am glad to be introduced to Nuxe. Founded by Aliza Jabès, a young businesswoman with a passion for aromatherapy and phytotherapy, who purchased Laboratoire NUXE in 1989 with the help of her family. Nuxe is a brand whose name means NATURE AND LUXURY (NATURE and LUXE in French) Their Huile Prodigieuse smells simply divine owing to it’s ‘unique combination of 30% Precious Plant Oils and Vitamin E to nourish, repair and soften your face, body and hair in a single step.’
Overall though my boo-boo though is really the sample sizes. With the exception of the deluxe sized Redken products and the Lunasol Skin Fusing Powder Foundation, the others were a little too small for me to make a proper decision of whether I would purchase them. Moreover no one likes to receive a degraded sample, my Rêve de Miel Facial Cleansing and Make-Up Removing Gel arrived cracked at both edges and seeping liquid…luckily I was able to save most of it. I understand quite a few subscribers received cracked and runny samples too. As for the dollar value, I’m putting this box at roughly RM 108, which is slightly more than 2X their subscription cost at RM 49.90.
Now for those of you keen to go on a date with The Lilac Box, head over to their website here, Their next box is scheduled to be out mid-May and for now at least, I’ll be keeping this date hoping that the 3 guys from TLB will outdo themselves and surprise us with a stunning 3rd Box. So until later, have a great week lovelies and don’t forget to check out my next Giveaway here.
